The Main House
Gassho House is a ranch-style dwelling, perfect for private retreats, small corporate gatherings, trainings, and seminars . The house has been lovingly restored by the current owners and marries rustic charm and boutique opulence beautifully. The estate accommodates up to 24 guests in shared accommodation or 10 guests in single-occupancy. Beautifully furnished, it features many areas for gathering, sharing and also solitude, if you prefer. The original ancient ‘Gassho House’ can still be visited on the land and is the next restoration project for the owners, Maryanne and David.
The house’s eclectic mix of antiques, spirit lifting art and comfortable furniture makes it feel like a home where you can relax and reflect.
The main house has a spacious Meeting Room (22’ x 18’) that opens onto a courtyard. Two large tables seat 20 people and can be used for a multitude of purposes such as seminars, meetings or dinner parties. There is a desk and small lounge area for a break-out group.

Other amenities include copy machine, laptop, 36” video screen, extensive reading library, dry erase board, metal easel, 2 comfy mid-century lounge chairs, faux fur seat covers for winter, and more!
The Living Room (18 x 12) comfortably seats 10-12 people and has a large, open wood burning fireplace. Two sets of French doors open onto the patio area. It is light, bright, and spacious room, cosy all year round.
The Professional Kitchen is designed to inspire sustainable minded foodies. It features a breakfast bar and dining area, seating twelve people comfortably at any one time. There is a self-service hot-drink station available in the kitchen throughout the day.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
There is one Private room (10 x 12) which is very cool, quiet and removed for the other rooms. It has a single bed, desk and chair and is perfect for group leaders.
The special Queen Bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and a cushioned, gabled seating area. It has a Queen bed with Casper mattress and comfy topper, side table and lamps for night reading. It looks out over the gardens.
The Upstairs Dorm Room is a very large , vaulted ceiling room with a porch, table, chairs and umbrella, perfect for down-time. It boasts a separate cast iron freestanding fireplace, a chaise long, table, suitcase stands, 2 single beds, one queen bed, small library and 2 large shoji screens for privacy between beds. A Hand Woven oriental carpet with hardwood floors adds that little bit of luxury to the room.
Our Downstairs Dorm Room sleeps five or more in two modern bunkbeds (single on top, double on bottom) & one queen bed. The room boasts a large closet, desk and chair and handwoven carpets over hardwood floors. French doors lead outside to the glamping pads. Situated right next to the downstairs main bathroom, this backroom has privacy and has two ways to get outside without moving through the main house for private access. All bedrooms are furnished with Brooklinen sheets and comforter microfiber, highly rated percale sheets, Tuft and Needle mattresses.
The Bathrooms are large, luxurious & spacious, fully equipped with walk-in showers, hair dryers, organic soaps and shampoos.
The Gassho Yurt
Surrounded by giant, century-old fir trees, this 30-foot Yurt is the jewel of the property and was designed lovingly from concept to completion by the property owners . There is a brick path that begins after you cross a japanese-inspired bridge taking you up to this sanctuary.
The yurt is a gentle, healing vortex designed to be a temple-like space for yoga, meditation or presentations, as well as therapies and group process work. It has 2 decks, beautiful, subtle lighting and wooden floors.
The Yurt comes equipped with rugs, meditation cushions, an audio system as well as heating system. Available for your use at the yurt are 30 reclining back jacks, 40 blankets, 12 Gaiam yoga mats, 8 futons for floor or body work (3 x 7), 6 IUGA yoga blocks and a beautiful installation/focus point with 6 electric candles.
Infront of the yurt is a bench for storing your shoes. The front desk boasts a water fountain and the back deck has extra seating or can be a space for dancing or yoga too. There is a massage table available for use.

Other Spaces & Amenities On The Estate
We have a beautifully renovated Large Group Space, 20’ x 50’, equipped with hard-wood floors and barn doors that open to the magnificent natural surrounding beauty.
Suitable for trainings, presentations, dance/yoga workshops, or any other day-long gatherings of up to 50 people.
This space is equipped with a sound system ready to plug into your device and we can make tables (6 x 8’ diameter) and chairs (40 folding) available to you should you require seating.
There are an additional six bedrooms available in this space, each with twin beds and access to two large, luxurious shared bathrooms.

Permanent Glamping Tents built on beautiful redwood decks. Two tents are 10 x 10 and a further two are 8 x 10, each have two single beds, electricity and are made cosy and comfortable with rugs, side tables and lamps. The tent residents can avail of the outdoor shower and access the toilet in the main house.
Bedding for the tents is available on request (sheets or sleeping bags and pillows).
The Fire Pit is a very popular area for evening-time gatherings. A huge wood-burning pit (wood available on site), it creates an atmosphere of comfort and connection and can seat twelve people comfortably around it. We have blankets available to make it feel just like your coming home!

A lap Pool & Hot Tub are available for those of you who need your daily dose of water and exercise. Our pristine lap pool (30 x 10) is always open, so you can ease away the tensions of the day with a morning or evening swim. Right beside the pool is a large hot tub that seats 6 people comfortably, more if you don’t mind close contact!
A Small organic orchard provides us with apples, pears, figs & olive trees in a natural, rustic setting.
Situated near the gated orchard, our Chicken Coop provides fresh eggs daily.
Meet The Gassho Team!
The Gassho House Retreat Venue was the dream child of married couple Maryanne Comaroto and David Raynal. For many years they had a vision of creating a unique place where people and communities could gather together, create a space which would foster the nurturing of body and mind and where good, soulful work could be engaged in. They purchased the Gassho Estate in 2018 and have fully renovated and restored the property into the exquisite boutique retreat venue that it is today.
Paul Aurell, the Property Manager at Gassho House, helped to build the estate from the ground-up. Paul lives on-site and is available to help with all the logistics of your stay. Nobody is better placed to help you at the venue!
